RIPS 50th Anniversary Planning Committee

The Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS) established in 1972 through a collaborative agreement between the Government of Ghana, and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), will be 50 years next year, 2022. This is an important milestone in the institute’s life and calls for celebration and stocktaking. During this period, RIPS has trained close to 1500 students across the entire African continent. This calls for celebration.

In this regard, a committee has been constituted to plan the 50th anniversary celebration of the Institute. The committee’s task is to outline a year long series of activities and raise funds to actualize these celebrations. The committee is chaired by a very accomplished alumnus, a former Chief of Demographic Statistics Section, United Nations Statistics Division, New York, former Government Statistician of the republic of Ghana, and a current Board Chair of Ghana Statistical Service, in the person of Dr Grace Bediako.
