Project Summary
The Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana is leading the evaluation of the National Program for Strengthening the Implementation of the Community-based Health Planning and Services Initiative in Ghana (CHPS+).

CHPS+ is a health system strengthening programme implemented by a consortium of partners in Ghana. - the Ghana Health Service, University of Ghana, Columbia University, University of Development Studies and the University of Health and Allied Sciences. CHPS+ is being implemented in selected districts in the Northern and Volta regions of Ghana – nine districts per region.

Data collection for the evaluation comes from the following areas:
•    Household survey involving women of reproductive age
•    Qualitative systems appraisal involving focus group discussions of health workers and community members
•    Health facilities assessment of service providers
•    Process evaluation using data from district health information systems
